Dressing for a Wedding
When you are in invited to a wedding, the first thing that you usually think about is what am you are going to wear. This is a very important question to think about. You want to look nice and fit in with the other guests. You don’t want to be over or under dressed in any way. It can be a hard decision to make, but one that you need to put some thought into.
The first thing that you should do is read over the invitation well. Find out where the wedding is being held and this will usually give you an idea of how formal the wedding is. You will want to start your planning early. Think about the season and what the weather will probably be like.
If you are deciding on one outfit for the wedding, you may want to also have a back up planned as well. If the weather is being unruly, you may find that the outfit you're picked is either going to make you too hot or too cool? You need to be prepared with this type of situation so that you are not rushed around the day of the wedding looking for something to wear.
Usually a man can wear a darker colored suit to a wedding and he will be perfectly dressed for the occasion. If the man does not want to wear a full suit, he can usually get away with a nice blazer and a good-looking shirt underneath. The pants should be some kind of dressier material that will be appropriate for the wedding type.
If the weather is warmer, a man can wear a lighter colored blazer if he would feel more comfortable. However, if the invitation says that the wedding is a black tie affair, you will feel completely out of place and sorry that you made this decision. Not to mention, the bride may not be happy with you.
Men should also wear nice and comfortable shoes. They should be a little dressier then your regular shoes. Some men think that no one will notice that they are wearing their favorite pair of worn out shoes, but that is not the case. Everyone looks at the shoes.
Women do have more options when it comes to dressing for a wedding. They will be able to figure out if they want to wear a dress or a pants suit. For some women, they like to wear one solid color. This will make them more comfortable and at ease with themselves in public. Other women like to live it up and dress more on the fun side. It is a good idea to think about where the wedding is being held so that you are not dressing too flashy for a nice quiet ceremony.
When the wedding is in the winter months, it is ok to wear a darker color. You can wear things like black, brown, or darker shades of blue and green. These colors will work well for the autumn temperatures as well.
When the wedding is in the summer or spring months, you may want to dress a little lighter and add more color to your style. You should not be afraid to wear something that makes you feel great. You may want to stay away from some of the prints that are out there on fabric today. Some of them are a little tricky and can bring unnecessary attention to you.
The one thing that you do not want to do is out do the bride. You have to remember that this is her special day and all eyes need to be on her. You do not want to take away from her big day by stealing the show with your wardrobe. Make sure that you are looking good, but not too good!
When it comes time for the mother of the bride and the mother of the groom to pick out their dresses, they may want to go together so that they do not have the same dress. This is an important step because the second most important in line is the mother of the bride and then the mother of the groom.
