Getting your family to help with wedding favors

Families are very involved in the wedding. When it comes to every aspect of the wedding, the family comes together to give opinions, make decisions, or get things done. Daddy may be paying for the wedding, but mom and your siblings should be helping with the decorations and wedding favors. You will find that if you have your family come to help you out with the favors and the decorations, everything will end up looking beautiful and everything will be done with time to spare.

If you are going to get your family to help, make sure that they are responsible and that they will get things done and on time. You want to have people working on your wedding favors as long as you can trust them. If they don't usually follow through with their goals, then try to give them a small role like cutting the ribbons. This way they aren't need that long and they don't get distracted from the goal at hand.

When you find out that you need more help with things like the wedding favors you will want to make sure that you ask them a couple days in advance. Mom may have her own things that she has to get done and you don't want to spring something on your family if they have plans. You want to give them at least a three-day advancement and try to go around their schedule. This way you can get more help; even though you may have to rearrange your day, you will at least have help with the favors.

If you notice that it's going to take a lot of time, you may want to do half one day and half another day so that you don't inconvenience anyone and they are done within a reasonable time. If you let your family choose the time and the day you, are more likely going to get more out of them? This way they aren't stressed trying to fit the favors into their schedule, but they are completely focused on the task.

If you have some younger brothers and sisters, who possibly might not have a lot to do with the wedding, you may want to ask them to recruit some of their friends to help you do the wedding favors. However, you want to make sure that they are responsible and can get the task done. If you stop by every now and then to see their progress, you can keep encouraging them to do more. Your family can have fun by making it a party and you will be happy knowing that the task is getting done and that you are saving a lot of money by using free labor.

The great thing about recruiting your family is that you save so much money. By utilizing the family, you will know that the task will get done the way you want them and you will be able to save hundreds if not thousands in favors. Family may be able to do it free, however, you get what you paid for. If you place your trust in someone who isn't worthy of the duty than you may end up thinking that paying the extra would have been worth it. The key to using your family is to ask them ahead of time to help you and to use family members that are reliable. The last thing that you want to do is end up doing it all hours before the wedding.
